¿Cómo preparar un Cold Brew?

How to make Cold Brew coffee

Cold Brew is prepared with cold water and a slow extraction, resulting in a smooth, sweet, and refreshing coffee.

It's very easy to prepare at home, and you can leave it ready in the fridge for several days.

Basic Recipe

Grind: coarse, similar to rock salt
Water: cold and filtered
Time: 8–12 hours in the fridge

For 600 ml: 50–60 g of coffee
For 1 liter: 80–100 g of coffee

You can slightly adjust the amount of coffee depending on whether you prefer a stronger or milder Cold Brew.

Step-by-step

1. Grind the coffee
Use a coarse grind. Too fine a grind can lead to more bitterness and sediment.

2. Add the coffee to the filter
Place the ground coffee inside your Cold Brew maker's filter.

3. Add the water
Slowly pour the cold water, making sure to wet all the coffee.

4. Stir gently
A few seconds are enough to ensure all the coffee is wet.

5. Let it steep
Cover the pitcher and leave it in the fridge for 8–12 hours.

6. Remove the filter and serve
Once the extraction is complete, remove the coffee and serve directly.

How to drink it

Black / with ice / with milk / with plant-based drink / with tonic / with an orange or lemon slice.

If you want to adjust it

Stronger → use a little more coffee or slightly extend the extraction time.
Milder → use a little less coffee or reduce the time.
Too bitter → try a coarser grind or less extraction time.
Too light → try a little more coffee or a few more hours of extraction.

What coffee do we recommend?

Ethiopian coffees work especially well in Cold Brew.

Naturals: fruitier and sweeter.
Washed: cleaner and more floral.

Storage

Always store it in the fridge and consume it preferably within 3–5 days

Our recommendation

Start with this recipe and adjust it to your taste. Cold Brew doesn't need to be complicated: good coffee, coarse grind, cold water, and time.
