Risk-free returns
If you haven't opened the coffee, you have 30, not 14 (as required by law), days to return it. No excuses. That coffee is not for sale; we'll drink it ourselves.
If you have already opened it and it wasn't what you expected, write to us. We will work with you to find the best possible solution in each case: exchange, partial refund, or return.
Just so you know: to date, no one has ever asked us to return a single coffee. There must be a reason for that! ;-)

Your questions, answered.
What is the best whole bean coffee?
The best whole bean coffee is that which has been carefully grown, processed, and roasted, respecting the characteristics of its origin. Specialty arabica coffees, such as Ethiopian, stand out for their aromatic complexity, sweetness, and balance.
What is the difference between commercial coffee and specialty coffee?
Specialty coffee comes from carefully selected beans with fewer defects, greater traceability, and a higher quality score. In Ethiopia, it is hand-picked at high altitudes. It must also be roasted in small batches to bring out its natural characteristics.
Why is Ethiopian coffee so highly regarded?
Ethiopia is considered the birthplace of coffee and is home to an enormous genetic diversity of varieties. Its coffees are typically known for their floral, fruity, and complex flavor profiles, which are difficult to find in other origins.
How long does fresh coffee last?
Coffee usually reaches its peak between 2 and 6 weeks after roasting. But it can keep well for up to 3 months. To keep it fresh, store it in a cool, dry place, away from light and moisture.
Which coffee is best for espresso?
For espresso, full-bodied, sweet, and balanced coffees usually work very well. The choice will depend on whether you prefer fruitier, more floral, or chocolatey profiles. All our coffees have an aroma description.
Which coffee has more caffeine?
Robusta coffee contains more caffeine than Arabica. However, quality Arabica coffees usually offer a more complex and pleasant taste experience. At Black Jebena, we work exclusively with Arabica coffee.
How can you tell if coffee is high quality?
The roast date, traceability, origin, variety, and processing method are some of the most important indicators. Good coffee should provide clear information about its origin. All our coffees have this information printed on the packaging.
What does it mean for a coffee to be single-origin?
It means that the coffee comes from a single region, farm, or cooperative. This allows you to better appreciate the specific characteristics of the place where it was grown.
Why does Black Jebena work exclusively with Ethiopian coffee?
Because we believe that Ethiopia offers some of the most fascinating coffees in the world. Our expertise allows us to delve into the origin, select the finest lots, and authentically share Ethiopian coffee culture.
"The simplicity of coffee's origin"
For their variety and quality, those who know choose Ethiopian coffee.
The keys to our Ethiopian coffee.
-
Quality of origin
We work exclusively with Ethiopian coffees selected for their character, traceability, and connection to the place where the coffee was born. Each region offers unique profiles that you won't find in any other origin.
-
Artisanal selection
Each lot is carefully selected and inspected before roasting by Abezash, who has lived surrounded by coffee in Ethiopia since childhood. We focus on micro-lots and seasonal coffees that express the identity of each harvest.
-
Roasted in microlots.
We roast in small batches of 1 to 5 kg to bring out the coffee's natural aromas and flavors. No rushing, no mass production, and with the freshest results possible. We make limited editions. Less coffee, but higher quality.
