Presentation: The Iceni were a British tribe that inhabited England between the 1st century BC and the 1st century AD. Known as the "horse people," the Iceni began minting coins around 10 BC, creating a special adaptation of the Gallic "heads/horse" design, which is depicted on the bottle's capsule. The Centaur, the emblem of Bodega Tesalia, is also featured on the bottle. Ultimately, it reflects the love that Richard Golding and his daughter Natalia, the winery's owners, have for horses, the Sierra de Cádiz mountains, and great wines.
Viticulture and Winemaking. The freshest and fruitiest bunches from each vineyard are harvested for this wine. These bunches can be from any of the four varieties cultivated by Tesalia; the only focus is on the fruit. The bunches for this wine are the first to be harvested and are fermented at lower temperatures. The result is a very fruity, fresh, approachable, and expressive wine. A touch of oak adds just the right amount of complexity without masking the terroir.
Aged for 5 months in French oak barrels.
Tasting Notes: Cherry red color with youthful purplish hues. Intense and pleasant aroma dominated by blackberry and cherry notes, with hints of rosemary, lavender, and a balsamic background. Smooth entry on the palate, where the youthful notes blend with a clean oak background. Its freshness and pleasant finish are noteworthy.
Due to logistical difficulties and the possibility of damage by third parties, wines are not shipped; they can only be picked up in store . Keep this in mind when placing your order.
