Origin (DO) : Ribera del Duero
Store : Cair Domain
Grapes : Tempranillo, Merlot
Wine Type: Red
Preparation : Aged for 10 months in French and American oak barrels

Presentation: Cair Cuvee is crafted with the aim of producing a fresh, luscious, and flavorful wine, yet with enough complexity and structure to satisfy a discerning palate. Tempranillo is complemented by a small percentage of Merlot, grown in the municipality of Moradillo de Roa, on a plot located at an altitude of 950 meters. Perhaps this is the key to Cair Cuvee's special character: a Ribera del Duero Merlot aged in new oak barrels each year, giving the wine a smooth entry with a subtly spicy and distinctive finish.

Viticulture and Winemaking: Vineyard with an average age of 25 years, maximum yields of 4,500 kg/ha, hand-harvested in small crates, double sorting table: first bunches, then berries. A small percentage of Merlot complements the Tempranillo, and its slow ripening contributes freshness, vibrancy, and complexity, making Cair Cuvée a wine unlike any other. Aged for 10 months in French and American oak barrels, followed by a minimum of 6 months of bottle aging.

Tasting Notes: Deep cherry red in color. The nose is intense with a suggestive and complex aromatic profile, offering notes of ripe fruit and jam, hints of caramel, and dairy undertones on a slightly smoky background. On the palate, it is smooth and silky, with sweet, rounded tannins. The finish reveals notes of overripe red and black fruit, cocoa, and vanilla.

Recommended Pairing: pasta, rice dishes, white meats, cod, spicy dishes, soft cheeses.

Awards / Scores: 2018 Vintage. 92 points James Suckling.

Due to logistical difficulties and the possibility of damage by third parties, wines are not shipped; they can only be picked up in store . Keep this in mind when placing your order.
