Origin (DO): Mosel (Germany)
Store : Dr. Loosen
Grapes : Riesling
Wine Type: White
Preparation : Young semi-dry wine

Presentation: Ernst Loosen is one of the world's most renowned winemakers. In 2005, he received the Decanter Man of the Year award. This wine represents the semi-dry version of the Riesling variety grown on the slate slopes along the banks of the Moselle River.

Viticulture and Winemaking: The Mosel Valley is one of the most stunning wine regions in the world. Bordering France and Luxembourg, its predominantly slate soils produce some of the finest expressions of the white Riesling grape. The vineyards are planted overlooking the river and its beautiful meanders, taking advantage of steep slopes of up to 70%, facing south to maximize sunlight. The vine arrived in the Mosel with the Romans in the 4th century, who recognized this location as ideal for viticulture. To the north, the Minheim mountain blocks the cold winds, providing excellent temperatures for grape ripening. The Mosel is a world-renowned wine region that offers exceptional wines.

Very fruity young wine.

Developer: Ernst Loosen.

Tasting Notes: A clean, fresh wine with vibrant acidity, citrusy and vibrant aromas, that seduces with its sweet and acidic contrast.

Recommended Pairing: Fruity white wines are medium-bodied, generally fresh, and fruity. These wines pair well with lighter dishes, but their intense aromas allow them to complement a wider variety of dishes than light whites. They are excellent with steamed, boiled, or grilled fish and seafood. They also pair well with marinated fish and seafood, ceviche, or raw seafood. They provide a good counterpoint to white wine or butter sauces. They are ideal with goat cheese. They also complement highly spiced Asian dishes. Season your dishes with fresh herbs or fruit.
